Christmas Recycling
It’s estimated that Britain will create more than three million tonnes of rubbish this Christmas. More than half of this could easily be recycled.
Here's some Christmas Recycling Tips to get you started!
- Use re-usable bags
Remember to take a re-usable bag with you when you're Christmas shopping. Don't accept bags that you don't need! - Avoid disposable plates and cutlery
Try to avoid using paper plates and cups if you're planning a party. - Buy recycled
When shopping for cards, gift tags and wrapping paper always try to buy recycled. - Recycle your Christmas cards
Use the special recycling bins for Christmas cards at high street stores including Tesco, M & S, WH Smith and TK Maxx. - Recycle real Christmas trees
Chop it up and put it in your brown bin or take it to a recycling centre for composting. - Recycle glass jars and bottles
Take all your wine bottles to your nearest bottle bank and cans can go in your green bin. - Recycle packaging
Recycle plastic and carboard packaging from your Christmas gifts.
