Volunteer for environmental & conservation work
If you want to get out in the fresh air then volunteering on the estate is for you.
Volunteering is often the best way to gain experience to secure that first paid role in conservation and is a fun way to learn practical skills that will stand you in good stead for a career in conservation. Even if you’re not looking to work within conservation, volunteering on the estate is a great way to meet new people, get fit and spend time in the great outdoors!
Practical Estate Management Volunteers
Practical estate management for conservation can make a genuine difference both immediately and for the longer term through habitat creation and management. The work we do on the estate is very seasonal but tasks may include, hedge laying, coppicing, tree planting, fencing, scrub clearance and working with livestock.
You do not have to be skilled as all training and safety equipment is provided. All levels of experience are welcome.
Wildlife Monitoring Volunteers
We also have opportunities to help monitor how the wildlife on our estate is responding to our management by volunteering as a surveyor helping with butterfly, bird, plant and newt surveys. Identification skills will be required for such a role.
