Spiritual connections and the arts

Since Neolithic times, local sites have been chosen for sacred ritual, worship and burial.

The Wittenham Clumps were a burial site for some 1400 years. In more recent times the Clumps have inspired poets and artists, and seem to retain a spiritual significance even for present-day visitors.
