The Northmoor Trust's farming community and education projects

The Northmoor Trust organises regular events for local farmers to demonstrate its sustainable farming approach.

The Northmoor Trust has become one of a number of LEAF Innovation Centres nationwide (Linking the Environment And Farming). These aim to help farmers tap into the very best of British innovation and research, to improve efficiency whilst enhancing the environment.

Through a Countryside Stewardship scheme, local 14-16 year olds take courses in practical countryside skills at the Northmoor Trust. Students work in four units, Health and Safety, Conservation Management, Animal Husbandry and Leisure & Recreation, leading to a qualification through the Open College Network.

Welcoming the public onto our estate
The Northmoor Trust organises events to show the public how farming works. Lambing Weekends, attracting 1000s of visitors, are held each year in March.

The Northmoor Trust's Little Wittenham Lamb is sold direct to the general public through local farmers markets. More and more people want quality meat that they know comes from a reliable source and which preferably has not travelled hundreds of miles to get to market.

Educational and public events include guided walks, Open Days, and school visits.
