The Wild Waste Show helps South Oxfordshire’s children to take action on waste!
The Northmoor Trust’s Wild Waste Show rolls into South Oxfordshire this week to spread the ‘reduce, reuse and recycle’ message.
Children from Aston Rowant, Whitchurch and South Moreton Primary Schools are taking part in creative workshops aboard the Wild Waste Show Bus to learn how they can stop their rubbish from going to landfill.
Wild Waste Show Manager, Annie Cousins, says ‘With the planet’s resources becoming depleted and landfill sites filling up and contributing to climate change, the Wild Waste Show is an essential key in educating Oxfordshire’s young people to take action on waste.’
Alongside the fun activities on board the Wild Waste Show, South Oxfordshire District Council’s waste officers will provide free recycling boxes, goody bags and recycling information for parents to take home.
Gina Cooper, SODC Head of Service for Public Amenities, said “It is crucial to engage young minds from an early age, to help them learn about the recycling process and emphasise the need for everyone to reduce the amount of waste we produce. The Wild Waste Show is a great way to get these messages across in a fun and educational way, and by taking part we hope to help lead the way for young people and recycling.”
