Lambing Weekends draw the Crowds!
The Northmoor Trust’s first lambing weekend saw crowds flock to Hill Farm at Little Wittenham to share in the awe and wonder of this annual event.
The annual event that involves families from across Oxfordshire and beyond, celebrates the important conservation grazing that the sheep flock undertake on the grassland of the Wittenham Clumps and link people with the work of the conservation grade farm that the Northmoor Trust owns and manages.
In addition to record visitor numbers of people visiting the first of the two weekends, 23 breeding ewes gave birth and 50 lambs were born over the 48 hour period.

Ben Earl, Director of Communications said “The weekend was a very happy and popular time for all those that visited and the number of lambs born meant that no one left disappointed. The Northmoor Trust is all about inspiring people to protect their local landscape and sheep play a very important part of protecting the landscape of the Wittenham Clumps."
The second lambing weekend takes place at Hill Farm this weekend, 24th & 25th March from 10am to 4pm. Entrance is FREE but donations are requested.
