Northmoor Trust's new Chief Executive joins the team
The Northmoor Trust welcomes new Chief Executive, Harry Barton, to its dynamic team.
Harry Barton, aged 39, joins the Trust as preparations take place for the opening of Project Timescape, the Trust’s new education and visitor centre.
Harry has worked within the environmental and countryside sector for the last 15 years.
Starting life at the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, Harry played a very significant role in raising over £17 million for the internationally renowned Millennium Seed Bank project. The project's aim is to secure the future of over 10% of the world’s flora.
Subsequent roles were within the Council for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE) and Wiltshire Wildlife Trust where Harry led the development of Rebuilding Biodiversity, a new approach to conservation at a landscape scale.
On his arrival at the Trust, Harry said, 'I am delighted to be joining the Northmoor Trust at this very exciting time. I’m deeply impressed with the breadth of its work and the enthusiasm and knowledge of its staff. The beauty of the Wittenham Clumps, combined with the truly innovative Project Timescape and the exciting research into sustainable forestry and farming, make the Trust a special place to work.'
