Residential school visits

The Northmoor Trust has partnered up with the YHA at Streatley to create residential opportunities for schools.

The Learning outside the classroom manifesto says that
Staying away for a few days or more is a powerful way of developing key life skills, building confidence, self esteem, communication and team working’.

The Northmoor Trust have now partnered up with YHA Streatley to offer schools from Oxfordshire and beyond, the opportunity to spend between 1 and 4 nights away from home.

We work with teachers to develop a programme, which provides memorable learning experiences, helping children to make sense of the world around them, and to gain skills that will stay with them into adult hood, affecting their behaviour, values and lifestyle.

Whether you want a general subject based day, a multi curricular day, or a day spent on thinking and problem solving, life skills such as co-operation, communication and team building, we will design a day for you. We take groups to places across Oxfordshire and beyond.

You can choose a myth, fact and legend day up on White Horse Hill on the Berkshire downs, or a day studying the River Lambourne; a day spent being a Roman or Saxon on the Northmoor Trust’s own spectacular estate at Wittenham Clumps, or a day spent in Oxford using geographical skills and learning about the history and literacy connections.
