Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate good practice in accordance with Health and Safety procedures
Assessment Criteria
- Behave in an appropriate manner at all times, both during the practical lessons and when travelling to and from the site
- Summon help in an appropriate way form an appropriate person e.g. member of staff
- Demonstrate and explain what to do in an emergency:
assess the situation; - find the first aid kit;
apply pressure to a bleeding wound and reassure the patient. - Select and wear appropriate safety clothing on site
- Identify three potential dangers on site, e.g. river, fire, machinery
- Identify the meaning of 6 standard hazard warning signs, e.g. fire, chemicals, danger, wear eye protection
- Demonstrate and explain how to safely lift and carry heavy objects.
