A Geological Walk from Wittenham Clumps to Shillingford Bridge

Join the Oxford Geology Trust on Oxfordshire’s Geotrail, a circular, guided walk from Wittenham Clumps to Shillingford Bridge return. The walk encompasses part of the Thames Path and is led by Bill Horsfield & Denise Dane of the OGT

Date: Saturday 20th February 2010
Time: Meet at 10am. The walk is about 4 hours, we plan to return by 2pm
Location: Meet in the Northmoor Trust car park at Hill Farm, Little Wittenham, GR SP 563927
Cost: Free
Booking: No booking required, just turn up.

Meet at the Northmoor Trust's Hill Farm car park in Little wittenham for this 6 mile walk from the Wittenham Clumps to Shillingford Bridge.

Learn more about what the Wittenham landscape was like before humankind arrived and enjoy the natural beauty of the Wittenham Clumps.

The walk will end at the Northmoor Trust’s Project Timescape exhibition that explores the local landscape – past, present and future. Light refreshments are available in the Poem Tree café between 12noon and 3pm.

Please bring a drink and snacks for the walk. We can stop halfway for facilities, if necessary.

Families can elect to join us for the first part of the walk around the Clumps (approx 1 mile return).
