The Trust will be showcasing designs for three new areas at its Hill Farm Centre that have been designed with creative input from local community groups.
The Open Day will highlight the different elements of the new Gateway for All project, which include:
- a fully accessible wetland area for hands-on learning and recreation.
- a courtyard garden of edible and medicinal plants where people can replicate ideas for their homes; and a sensory garden for community and education activities.
The £50,000 Gateway for All project seeks to engage local communities in the design and creation of outstanding new facilities, located at Little Wittenham, between Wallingford and Didcot.
In partnership with the Thames Valley Probation; Style Acre and the South & Vale Carers Centre (both based in Didcot); and Kingfisher School from Abingdon; three new community resource areas are being planned, designed and created. The project is destined to enhance the natural environment, create new accessible public spaces and share skills and knowledge with those involved in the process.
Work with the groups has started with design workshops Presentations will detail the process taken and provide ideas on creating exciting gardens and nature areas at home.
