Do I need a ticket?
No, you can just turn up. The charge will be £10 per car. If the festival reaches capacity, visitor numbers will be regulated.
Where will I be able to park?
Cars will be parked on the fields next to the Festival site.
Can I come by public transport?
Shuttle buses will be provided from Didcot Parkway train station. London Paddington to Didcot Parkway takes about 45 minutes and Oxford to Didcot Parkway takes about 15 minutes.
To help us accommodate for numbers, if you plan to use the shuttle bus, please let us know by sending an email to info@childrensfoodfestival.co.uk with 'bus' in the subject heading.
Will there be a charge for the cooking demos and activities at the festival?
All cooking demonstrations and activities will be completely free. The only things that you'll need to pay for are food to eat and products from the trade stands.
Do we need to book for the activities
It's not possible to pre-book activities before the festival, but on the day there will a system for signing up for activities.
How suitable is the site for buggies or wheel chairs?
The Festival and car park are in grass fields – which are pretty flat. Some of the activities will need to be reached by short distances across uneven grass.
Can I go and do something else while my children are busy making something?
Sorry no, children must be supervised by parents or guardians at all times.
We’re a school and we would like to organise a trip to the festival by coach, can we come?
Yes, but the festival is primarily aimed at families and we cannot allow more than five children per adult onto the site. If you would still like to come by coach, you will need to pre-book by contacting us at: info@childrensfoodfestival.co.uk
I'm under 16, and I'd like to come on my own, can I?
Sorry, no. No children under the age of 16 will be allowed on site without an adult, but we are very keen for children of all ages to come with a parent or adult.
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately due to the amount of animals and people on site, no dogs will be allowed apart from assistance dogs. Cars with dogs in will be refused entry into the car parks.
Can I bring a picnic?
It shouldn’t be necessary - there will be all kinds of food to eat on the spot, including, French, Bangladeshi, Indian, Thai, Caribbean, Egyptian and Mexican. There will also be a number of different drinks outlets, serving everything from the traditional cuppa to delicious fruit smoothies.
What footwear/clothing should I bring?
We are all hoping for a sunny weekend, so if the weather forecast is hot, remember to bring sun hat, sun cream and a water bottle. As mentioned, the Festival site is on grass, so sensible footwear should be worn.
Is more or the less the same thing happening on both days?
Yes.

Definitely! The Children’s Food Festival will revitalise their taste buds and stimulate their cooking skills! We aim to turn fussies into foodies. See you there.

Can I bring alcohol?
There will be no alcohol allowed on site.
Can we take home what we make?
Yes, of course.

No! But you can watch his demo and be inspired to cook more!
Can we speak to someone personally, as we have several questions that aren't answered here?
We don't have the resources to be able to answer everybody's questions on the phone, but do email us and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
